Open Studios in Marseille Organized by Château Servières

On this occasion, I presented an exhibition of recent and less recent paintings, displayed formally in the Emprise gallery, where I usually show the work of other artists, and extended the presentation into the studio, where “works in progress” mingled with the natural clutter of the workspace.
I really enjoy talking about my work and what drives it, what influences it. During these visits, “non‑artists” often say simple things that awaken in you a sense of gratitude for the work you do and the life you chose. During her visit, an elderly lady asked me: “You are very intense, and yet your paintings are so calm, they convey such a restrained emotion… does painting calm you?” I hesitated for a moment, and then I said yes. And actually, everyone was very calm…
